Our Aftercare Program
Red Rock Canyon School's treatment of youth and families does not end at discharge. Whether the youth is returning home, or is faced with the need for an independent living situation, we seek to establish a support network which will help provide the security, continuing education, and long-term guidance which will help the youth have a happy and successful life.
Individual Aftercare Plans are outlined and addressed as part of the student's Master Treatment Plan and are designed to ensure that the youth's transition back into the home and family life, or to a more independent living situation, is a supportive and effective one. We do everything possible to provide ongoing support for our students as they strive to reintegrate into their community as socially responsible and productive individuals.
As the youth nears completion of the program, the case managers and therapists set up detailed aftercare arrangements based on the resources available in the community to which the youth is discharging. Arrangements are made by the case manager for academic transfer of information to home-town schools for their continuing education.
Red Rock Canyon School will also provide support for involvement of the student in community support groups, including AA/NA, if applicable, and arrangements are made for continued counseling and/or medical monitoring, if needed.
Our students are encouraged to keep in touch with their therapist, case manager, teachers, and staff. They are provided with a toll free number to call into the program if they have problems. Routine checks are made by the case manager with both the youth and the family throughout the first year, following discharge.
With this ongoing support, students leaving Red Rock Canyon School are better able to meet everyday situations and events with the confidence and skills they need to be able to problem- solve efficiently after they depart from our program.
