Residential Academic Program

Red Rock Canyon School presents an outstanding residential academic program for boys and girls. Academics and Therapeutic Intervention is the winning combination that works, and at RTCS both are equally important.

At Red Rock Canyon School we believe that real education occurs when one has developed a true love of learning. We seek to instill this idea in our youth, and we stress this concept in every aspect of our academic program.

We promote the development of a positive self-image by providing each youth with opportunities to experience academic success. We accomplish this through an individualized curriculum that focuses on a youth's strengths and personal learning style aimed at boosting self-esteem through achievement of academic goals.

Academic learning is enhanced through the implementation of the "Positive Peer Culture" philosophy (Vorrath, Bendtro), which creates and fosters an atmosphere of caring based on kindness, firmness, dignity, and mutual respect.

In this setting, students have the opportunity to develop courage, confidence, and life skills which will enable them to live successfully in the world in addition to progressing academically. This is accomplished through the utilization of class meetings and "Positive Peer Culture"" strategies.
